Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) new thermostat

Just ordered a thermostat for my truck, the first one since original at 198k and 13 yrs. I wasnt sure of the difference in the 180* and 190* so was going to go with the 190 since that was what was in my dads 99 work truck, but popped mine and said it was 180*, so I got that one, a Stant installed 11-98. The only difference between my dads 99 and mine besides a big power difference is that mine has 4. 10 rear and his is 3. 55. Do all lower gear trucks have the 180 I wonder? Oh well, still only 17. 99 shipped from rockauto.com

My 98. 5 has a 180F, my '01 had a 190. I prefer 180, gives you a little more margin of safety against overheating.
