I have been happy with my Michelin LTX A/S tires and will be putting on new something in the spring. I have studded snow tires for the winter, so a straight highway tire is fine.

Anyone running the Bridgestone Duravis R250 all steel ply tires. This is a highway rib tire. They come in 265/75R16 LRE.

Other suggestion for a straight highway tire that tracks well.

The LTX's are the longest lasting tires that I have ever dealt with and they drive reasonably well too. I have never used a tire that I would consider a better highway tire than them.

I have never had the Bridgestones that you mention on one of my vehicles but I have friends with them and they drive fine.

I had a set of Goodyear Wrangler HPs that went over 70k. Rotated every other oil change and kept pressure up... very good traction and highway tire... even better snow tire since I used to live in Denver.

Michelin has a new tire design out in our size, and E-range. It looks very similar to the stock tread design, but has a little more aggressive design, so it should be better in slick situations. Its the LTX A/T2. Costco carries them, also. I just may try them instead of the Rugged Trail, since I think the Michelins will last longer.

There are a million tires to try, everybody has their preferences, I've had michelins, kellys, and goodyears. My favorite to date has been my newest set, General Grabber AT2's. I had them put on out the door for $650, they have an agressive sidewall but ride smooth. I ran bridgestones on my jeep and liked them, but am won over with the generals, the old man has 70,000 on his general ameritracs on his 3500, still not too shabby looking, cant beat the price and longevity.

Hi All,

My truck loves to eat tires. I've tried everything (well Michelin, Wild Country, Firestone, and now Toyo). So far the Toyo M-55 have lasted the longest (about 35,000 with maybe 5,000 left). Toyo makes a true highway tire (I think it's called Toyo HT). We're running a set on a Tahoe right now and with 25,000 of city driving (delivery vehicle) there is very little wear. I, however, would not run these tires off road or on snowy/icy roads (strictly paved road summer use).

Just my opinion.

+1

Especially if you tow all the time. If you really want long wear, go for the XPS. They are heavier but they are a real truck tire and will last a long time.

I too had the original equipped Goodyear Wrangler on my 95 DRW, which went 55K miles. They still had a good 10K miles left, but I changed them out because we were going on a very long trip with the Lance cab-over-camper, (11'-3"). I replaced the Goodyear with Dunlap Rovers, which were also very good.

I'm not as impressed with the American General's on my 05 DRW.

Jengle;

How many miles did you get out of the Rugged Trails?

I put them on our Tahoe recently and really like the traction in snow, even in 2 wheel drive. They ride a little rougher than the Goodyear OEM, but would not notice on Ram 2500.

They are priced right... ... ... .

That is a really nice tire Andy too bad they dont come in a 38x15. 50x16. 5

Looks like a perfect tire for a owner like me whose truck is afraid and allergic to dirt.

Also...

Time you rid yourself of those ugly, homely looking 16. 5 wheels and step up and be modern with a newer wheel isn't Rob?????... ..... Andy
