Can you tell the difference. Pulled off my stock 265/70/17 and installed 315/70/17 on stock wheels.

Looks good, how do you like em? They sure balance the look of the truck out better. Do you get any rubbing? By the way: the hummer (H1) runs on 37" tires, the H2 (hummer 2) runs on the 315's you and I have. I Like Big Tires. :D

Ive got 3000 miles on my 315s with no levelking kit and no fender rub yet, just a little rub on the control arm on the 4 link... . $168. oo ? WWOW they got you but good, alot have found them for $125. oo ea... . Sorry

mileage

Did they affect your mileage,I'm getting ready to install tuff-country 4. 5 lift with the 315's. on my 3500 srw 03. If u find a lower price like Tirerack; Discount will beat it. tire rack was 125. 00 for the 315's.

Looks like I paid too much. Sounded like a decent price when I bought them, but didn't shop around first. I'll talk with them about it. I buy all my racing tires from them as well. Maybe they'll give me a credit on my next purchase.

FYI, I'm running 315's and I saw a mileage drop. I'm now averaging 16+/- general driving highway and around town. I especially noticed a drop in top gear power on the hills. You loose about 10% and you need to make the same 10% mental corrections for speed. I wanted to lift mine also but a local shop told me tuff country doesn't make very good lifts. I don't know myself, thats just what the truck shop told me. I would consider superlift instead. they give you new front springs instead of using spacers. well thats my 2 cents.

Haven't checked mileage yet, Alan. Ride is better and looks a whole lot better. Still haven't got them to rub anywhere, even lock to lock on the steering wheel.

What's the deal with Tire Rack? Do you pay shipping charges. Who mounts and balances these tires. What about service after the sale?

Was the ECU reprogrammed for the tire change? If not, you've gone 9% further than what your odometer would indicate changing over to 315's from 265's. It would seem like a drop in fuel economy.

4.5 Tuff-country lift

A buddy just put a tcl on this past week,he says it seems like a well engineered lift and wasn't to bad to install,I do have my lift in my garage and it looks very stout and healthy,I always like to try things myself and not depend on what somebody tells me,

thanks for the imput.

Jevers

That's the beauty of the deal, discount beats price to get your business and u still deal with your local discount shop!

sale on these tires

I just found them on tirerack.com for 119 each, and shipping to me is about 65- 543!!!

Any suggestions on shocks? :)

It's amazing how cheap tires are these days. I think they were about the same 20 years ago!

We don't have Discount tire around here in the Pa-Ohio area.

Hey Guys! HELP!

I'm running a 2003 H. O. single rear wheel short box quad cab laramie with 6 speed and 4. 10 axle.

Last week I bought four BFG 315's from a buddy for $300, they only had 500 miles on 'em. They look great & ride better than the 265's did. I took the truck in to my dealer, paid him to mount the tires and re-calibrate the speedometer. Now it's reading slow by about 30 to 35 percent. I think he went the wrong way with his calibration.

I went to the larger tires for looks, but mostly to raise my final gear ratio from 4. 10 to somewhere around 3. 75. Since pulling my 16k fiver was effortless with the H. O. and the 4. 10, I figured that since power was not an issue, a taller ratio would result in better mileage. 90 percent of my driving is unloaded. Should I re-install the 265's? By the way, the 265's are load range E, with the same load rating as the 315's, which are load range D, only at 50 lb, instead of 80. what gives?:(

30% sounds extreme. My speedo was off by about 10% after I installed the 315s. My dealer re-calibrated the speedo and it is still off by about 5%, but they say that is as close as they can get do to limits in the computer. :-( I talked to someone at SuperLift a while ago and they said that they are working on a TruSpeed calibrator for the new Dodges, but I haven't seen or heard anything about it yet. I love these tires!

Nate :)

I would agree with you that Tuff Country doesn't make very good lifts but I also don't have much confidence in Superlift. I have the 2" TC leveling kit and it seems like a very well made spacer as spacers go. Not much to them and not much to go wrong. For my truck, I would rather go with spacer than taking chances with new springs. I like the stock ride and the spacers give me the lift and the stock ride. I guess what I am saying is that I am not concerned enough with the performance of my suspension system to lose the good ride I have stock. As long as it rides nice and looks good towing my Jeeps, I am happy. Not trying to be a smart a$$. Just my opinion.
