I just put new tires on my truck today, and they fixed every problem i had hoped they would. The old tires were all 245/75, except the tires on the front were a different brand then the ones on the back. When the tires were off the truck there were nearly two inches difference in height. I just got this truck a week ago, I was worried about the transfer case cuz it wouldn't shift worth a d***. The brakes don't shake any more, and now the truck drives straight down the road. It rides better too. I am always amazed at all the drivability problems that can be attributed to bad tires.

Man, hopefully he never used the t-case with those tires. It would only take a few minutes to destroy the t-case if it was driven on concrete.

when the tires were off the truck the back ones were an 1 1/2 inch shorter. I have always been told that there can be large differences in tire sizes between manufacturers. Even different types of tires of the same brand have different actual size.

I did use the t case. As you already know, it didn't work well at all. I noticed thing weren't right before I did any damage.

Tire sizes are measurements of the carcass (the basic part of the tire that hold it's shape and air). Beyond that, manufacturers can make the tread any way they want and can be different. You can see a difference even in the same manufacturer, same tire size, but mud and snow tread vs. highway tread.
