I just traded my 97 3500 2wd 5spd for a 01 2500 4x4 auto w/76k miles. Now I feel like I don't know this truck very well. I do know my average 20mpg is gone. There are some things I am concerned with and thought this is

I first noticed what appeared to be an old oil leak from somewhere around the front of engine to the front right of engine. It does not leave oil on the ground, but I noticed a drop of engine oil hanging from the drain plug after a test drive. I pressure washed the engine and can not visually see any leaks.
I will watch this closer, would this be a major problem for year?
The second thing I discovered, the power steering pump growls a bit when you turn the wheel. It was low on power steering fluid, filled it, still growls. I saw a tread where others talked of same thing. Appears to be a standard for this to happen. Any help here would help.
The third thing is, I am NEW to 4x4, my first 4 wheel drive ever (except 4wheeler). I am tickled pink about this truck, 51 yrs old and I feel like a teenager in that truck. My wife says she likes the heated seat, cool beans.
If anyone has any advice for me I'd love to hear it.
