Hello gentlemen,

I am new to this forum. I recently purchased my first dodge. It is an 06 2500 quadcab long bed cummins 610/6 speed manual. I have the afe stage 2 intake, MBRP 5" turbo back exhaust, and autometer gauges. I had the quadzilla race box on my powerstroke and I liked it alot. What chip shoul I put on my new dodge? Thank you for your help.

My vote is Edge Juice with Attitude monitor. Easy on wallet, Easy to install, if you can basically unplug something and plug another in etc... Seriously I'm not into drag racing, or sled pulling and I don't tow a 5er. But just adding the Edge more than setting #3 is way more power than I really want out of this truck, it allready is pretty quick stock. The Edge just makes it feel like a Corvette.

Tst

Welcome to Dodge and the TDR!!!

I have run all 3 of the boxes. I like the display of the Edge bar none! You will note that I am running a TST. The power is outstanding and you have 10 levels of adjust ability. As you upgrade other things in your truck (clutch) the TST will grow with your power capabilities. Plus, if you really want wow factor stack that with a Bully Dog or quad...

Cheers, Bill

When you put a chip on there go your Warranty down the drain

I don't want to do any thing to hurt my warranty any way. You do what you want but now they look and can tell If you ever had a chip Installed on your truck.

This can be true if it causes a covered part to fail, I also worry about my warranty.

That's why I had the Dodge dealer install Kax Performance injectors instead, they are warranted by Dodge. And I have seen a Hugh increase in Power and my MPG went up 3 MPG. Paired with the Cold air intake and Full flow exhaust, I have all the pulling power I need. And my Warranty is still with me.

Now if you want to chip a Ford, go ahead their Junk anyway!
Oo.

Performance injectors actually explicitly covered by D. C. ? Sounds interesting, did the dealer put that in writing?

More to the actual question in the thread, I have a TST and I can't say enough about it. The controller and display are a little older than some of the flashy new ones, but if you want power and the ability for the box to grow with you, that would be the one to get. Just make sure you don't use the higher settings too much before you make some other upgrades.

I plan on call these Kax guys myself - but any further info would be appreciated. Cost, time (do they refit your injectors?), EGTs, anything in writing (as previously asked), specifics on what they do to the injectors, predicted effect on the life of the injector? I am right now assuming the dealer is providing warranty and not Dodge - correct me if I am wrong . . .

I second Ryan on this.

(But not quite "Corvette-ish")

It cost me $1199. installed. I don't know who is holding the warranty, I just know that if they cause a problem. It's covered.

Yes one thing you have to have is a Pyro gauge, most of the time I run between 400 and 700 deg. If I get on it, it will peak at 1200 then drop. The other things you need to do are, get more air in and get it out faster.

Temps drop allot with a Full Flow muffler, I want to get it on the dyno as soon as I can. All I know is, I have a lot more power when I need it. And I picked up 3 extra MPG.

I don't believe in Chips, Had one and wasn't inpressed. Your still using stock injectors, and just dumping a lot more fuel in to get the power!

Uhhh Did anyone READ his post? You can go with Quadzilla if you want I'm a ALPHA tester for SP diesel and there box works quite nice. The BD Tripledog is good from what I've heard And the TST box does things to break a Stock Dodge(if set wrong). Look around. Ask questions. Make a informed choice. Would I say SP DIESEL you bet! But I'm putting in my . 02. As I said take some time... ask questions... THEN make a choice.

I agree! Anyway, don't these trucks have more than enough power for the GCWR. Now if you have a D/A or the PS than you would need a chip regardless of stats. Example: Boss wants to chip my work truck (POS) to get better MPG (10 MPG :( ) which has close to the same power ratings as my cummins but is a gutless wonder
