new-to-me 2005 CTD

Howdy,

I just drove home my first CTD, an '05 2500 with just 57,000 miles on it. I bought it from a Toyota dealership which gave me a good price but could tell me very little about the previous owner other than he was a rodeo clown. The truck looks to be in great shape, I crawled around under it and couldn't find any leaks or obvious problems. I am planning on taking it to the local Dodge dealer and having a full fluid change as well as having the tech do engine diagnostics to look for a bad injector. Other than that and the front end (ball joints, drive shaft) is there anything else I should look for? I am planning on taking the rig to Baja this spring and want it in top form. Thanks in advance.

if it runs fine leave it alone... dont need to spend more money on a tech to tell you it runs fine... . fluid change and you should be good to go... unless there is something obviously wrong with it... good luck

I traded my 05 this past summer for a 2010. I had right at 150,000 on it and the only thing I ever had to do was replace the water pump and belt idler pulley at 130,000. Otherwise, it was regular maintenance outlined in the owners manual. I got 120,000 on the OEM tires (Michelins). It was a great truck. No rattles and no problems when I traded it. I don't think you are going to find any injector problems. Keep the filters changed as recommended. Enjoy the ride.
