A question about shutdown

New to TDR and need advice!!!!

This is my first Post as I have just joined the TDR.

First of all, thank you for all the super information about the Dodge Ram 2500 and the Cummins! This info. really helped me with my new truck decision. For the last couple of years, I have wanted to retire my 1979 Bronco and get an Expedition or F250 SD. This spring everything came into place to make it happen and I was zeroing in on ordering on an F250 SC with the new 6. 0L diesel. Just then, some co-workers told me of their more recent (than 1979) unhappy Ford experiences and one of them has a 2002 7. 3L PSD Excursion.

Because all of these vehicles are so expensive, I decided to expand my scope of vehicles under consideration. Two other co-workers told me how they love their Dodge Durango and Chrysler 300M. Prior to the late 60’s, my Dad was a devoted Dodge/Chrysler owner so I was brought up with Dodge cars and farm trucks (After a John Deere tractor, I learned to drive a car in our D-100 P/U with a Slant 6 and a 4 Spd. !). My wife and I had a 1979 Pontiac Grand Lemans (Grand Lemon) station wagon that was just junk, so any GM is forever out of the question for us! That leaves the Ram CTD. Wow, the more I learn, the better the Dodge seems to get! My test drives at my dealer were very impressive. I am being told I have about 2 more weeks until it’s arrival. I can hardly wait! Oo. Oo. Oo.

Thanks again everyone!

P. S. Now I can take our 1981 Wilderness TT out of enclosed storage, dust it off, and hit the “vacation trail” this summer! :D

Welcome aboard! Good thing you dodged (no pun intended) the 6. 0 ford bullet. I have heard they are having some issues with the early versions. I think it will be a great motor, I just wouldn't want to be the guinnea pig for its development. Enjoy your new Dodge.
