So, where do you place a garbage can? Yes, outside is a good place, or in the center when travelling, but what about inside when you are cooking, living, etc? It seems it is always in the way.
That's a real problem. Either the designer makes a place for them in the floorplan, or they wind up sitting at the end of a counter or wherever there's room.
Our current 5th wheel is the first we've owned with dedicated space for a trash can. That was one of the "must haves" for my wife as she was tired of having the trash can sitting out in the open.
We have room under the sink too, but I'm the kind of guy who prefers the sporting approach to tossing garbage - shoot for 2 if you know what I mean. I can't be bothered to open a door. So our little bin, that is sized to hold a grocery bag is on the "kitchen" floor. It's kind of in a corner and short enough that the fridge door clears it, so not really in the way. My wife's ok with it because it has a flip-down lid. I like to prop the lid up and open... because I can't be bothered to lift the lid either. Granted, grocery bags are pretty darn small, but I don't want to save my trash for long anyway. Besides, I consider walking to the dumpster one of the joys of RVing
A footrest that opens to double as a container will work in floorplans that allow it - otherwise, typical stores like Walmart sell a wide variety of waste baskets, both open and enclosed in many sizes and shapes that can be easily used...
We have a kitchen sized one that fits in a little nook of a corner under the TV. but most of the time use the trash bag i bungy to the table outside. I do most of the cooking outside and like to have my 'nest' just right. gotta have my utensiles, choping block, trash bag, stove, grill, lighter and dish towel all right there in one spot and then guard it like a rabid dog to keep the kids from hauling it off
my wife gets a break from cooking when we camp, i guess that's part of her camping enjoyment.
Our garbage bag hangs on the inside of one of the under sink cabinets. We have a waste basket that sits near the TV when we are in camp. There is another small trash container sitting next to the toilet.
We have a full size can with lid next to the stove and a small one in the bathroom. Works good for us cause somehow they are full everyday and have to be emptied, no smell.
