new trans, 3 codes.

I had my ATS stage 4 installed yesterday (incredible trans) now I am showing codes p0868,p0713 and p2769. I did a search and found every code but these. Does anybody know what these codes are ? Thanks in advance, John

0868 TRANS FLUID PRESS LOW

John,How many miles did you drive your truck before these codes show up,Was it professionally installed,with those codes that trans should drive poorly, was the converter solenoid wire harness install correctly.

TWest It was professionally installed,(if thats what you want to call them) The installer backed off the rack, put it in drive and he said it felt like it was in high gear, he got out of the truck ,pushed something (maybe a connection on the harness)under the truck and it pulled fine. I have already put 150 miles on it and it pulls hard with no shudder,shifts harder then stock and seems to be just fine. I realy like the way the transmisson feels. I checked for codes after the installer came back from the test drive, he was gone about 2 minutes. Thanks for everybodys help and replys. John

Yes,I only know the key method for checking codes. Off ,on, off, on wait ... codes pop up,then it says DONE. Am i doing this right? Thanks John

Those codes are going to stay there for 50 starts (I think). If your check eng light is still on it means the condition still exhist's. If it's gone out it should be ok. By the way, it takes 5 or 6 starts to turn off the check eng light after a code has been set.

The check engine light never came on. I just did the key method and the codes pop up. I think I'm missing something here. (won't be the first time. ) John

The last 2 numbers on each of them mean how many times youve turned the turn since the code was triggered...

No - this is only applicable to the instrument cluster codes, that you get when you run an IP self-test. The OBD-II 'P' codes that you get from cycling the ignition key are powertrain codes. There is no reference in these codes as to number of ignition cycles since the condition last occurred.



John,



Disconnect the negative battery cables for about 10 minutes or so, re-connect, and check the codes again (you're retrieving them correctly), and they should be gone. Drive the truck some, then re-check the codes. Hopefully, they won't return, and were just set when the trans electrical connections weren't made.

Sounds like the installer forgot to plug in the solenoid connector on the left side of the trans, and then remembered to plug it in. Since the key was on, and the engine running, it set codes for this because the PCM saw open circuits. This caused the trans to be in "limp mode", which is a 3rd gear start. You are seeing those codes because they weren't erased from the PCM.

I'm back from the test ride. Still have all the codes plus one more,2509. The truck ran great,1st ,2nd ,3rd od, everthing locked up ran tight. I think i'll try again tomorrow ,had enough tonight. John
