Ok, all ye mechanics of great knowledge, here's one for you. Last month my transfer pump started ticking REAL loud. Put up with it for a few weeks and then put a new one on.
After a few weeks of quiet diesel rattling, the damn transfer pump is again ticking. This seems to happen after I've done a few WOT and then the ticking stays around for a day or
so, then goes away!!! I won't get another ticking spell until I hammer the throttle again.
Am I somehow starving the transfer pump and sticking something or what?
New pump bad?

97 2500, extcab,Auto, 4x4. BFG 295/85/16 AT, JRE Stage III plate, 250 injectors, K&N, 4" Edwards Exhaust with Dynomax straight through racing muffler & 5"tip, (Cat got "lost"), EGT, boost, oil& transmission temp. gages, HD torque conv. & BD valve body, silencer ring "exiled" and a multitude of strobe lights and switches (Vol. firefighter)
