I just had my transmission overhauled locally and am schuduled for him to check out in a few days... . But heres the issue... I had a complete heavy duty overhaul and bought a billet single disc TC from dacco... . It runs great except around the 45-60mph area... . If your just cruising and moderatly accelerate i get a shake for maybe 3 or 4 second and its gone, but of course I've acelled over 60mph. It will only do it at this speed and it doesnt matter what setting I have the Juice on. I have a sinking feelin its the TC but it seems to be to low in rpms to cause a issue... . after speakin with my trany guy on the phone he thinks it could be the TV Cable.

What are yalls opinions?

Thanks!

Rick

When you had the trans done did you do the valve body also? It is possible that the lockup clutch is slipping if the line pressure in the trans is not increased enough to hold the clutch in the new TC.

Ok I played with the kickdown cable... no help... . I talked to a transmission guy and I does sound like it could be line pressure... . Whats the next step?

Rick

I think the easiest and best thing to do would be to have the VB rebuilt. It will increase line pressure which you need anyway and besides it will shift much better. ATF+4 might help, it does reduce chatter, but you are most likely slipping which is not good for the bands and clutches.

School me on this Red Lubegaurd? It does have atf+4 in it already...

As far as a rebuild, meaning maybe install a shift kit? or should I just do a entire vb?

Rick

Red lubegard is an additive that mainly helps increase the thermal stability of transmission fluid. It also has some properties that help eliminate tc shudder. It does work, but generally it masks an underlying problem.

It's difficult to accurately diagnose your problem without driving the truck, but it sure sounds like a problem with the tcc. Don't throw money at it. Get the pressures checked and go from there. Don't buy a new valve body or rebuild anything until it is accurately diagnosed. You shouldn't have any trouble getting it fixed since it was just done.
