I have 200 miles on my 2022. The right front shock has oil coming out of it. The dealer tells me the shocks are on backorder and if I drive the truck past 7k miles warranty won't cover it. If you got a new truck you might want to check them before 7k miles.

Was going to put up a picture but it is on the shop computer.

As long as the shocks started leaking within the basic warranty mileage limit and you open a case with the dealer service department for the warranty work, it doesn't matter at all if the replacement shocks only come in after the truck rolls past the mileage limit. Thats Ram;s problem, not yours or the dealers!!!

More importantly, if you did not somehow misunderstand what the service manager was telling you, then that service department is either clueless or trying to play you and possibly even Ram.

That said, if they are genuinely unclear on how the manufacturers warranty works, then you will likely want to find another dealer with a better service department.

Even more seriously, If they are playing you AND Ram, in order to "double dip" (ie make you pay for the replacement shocks when they come in as well as charge Ram for the warranty work, then you definitely want to find another dealer AND let Ram know about what this particluar dealer is claiming cause the are trying to cheat you and/or Ram ... intentionally or not.

I saw it late friday, my wife called a different dealership. That was their story. It wasn't the dealership we bought it from. I really can't stand to deal with the ones I bought it from and I am starting to wonder if they have anyone there that is sharp enough to change a shock. It was there to be undercoated and whoever did the undercoating didn't have a clue about what he was doing. Put a big thick line down one side of the driveshift right under the warning decal on the driveshaft about how critical balancing a driveshift is. Skipped all the water traps. We had plenty of trouble when we ordered it and wound up with the district manager's cell number. Boy, the dealership was sure surprised, so I don't think this will be a problem. We'll see on monday.

Ditch em and toss some Bilsteins in. When I changed mine out I discovered one of the rear shocks was not even pressurized.... No oil leak or anything, you could push it all the way in and it would not come back out. Same with my Sprinter work van... Brand new, Changed the rear shocks and one had about half the pressure than the other. Cheap parts banged out with hit or miss quality control seems to be the norm unfortunately these days. Warranty or not.... $200 and 30 minuted of your time with a couple of hand tools and you'll be riding a little better than having them toss in a replacement OEM unit. 15 minutes or less per shock. You won't void any warranty doing shocks. Geno's garage, 4WD parts have them... The 2021 P/N fits the 2022 as well.

I had bilsteins on the front of my 2015. I wanted until I put the first set of tires on. The rear of the 15 I had to get from Dodge, I couldn't find them for the rear air ride. The rears never made it past 60k miles before they were gone. I was hoping to wait until I put the first set of tires on. I called the dealership where I bought it today. They said they were backordered, I told them if they can't get me one. They can buy one bilstein and I will buy the other.

Never thought of the double dipping aspect! Thank you

No I haven't. Just have too much other stuff going on and customers stuff comes first. Should hear from one of the dealers today. The truck has 300 miles on it now. Just got it back from the bed liner outfit, that could have gone better also. I wound up using the fuel tank out of the old truck and can't make the fuel gauge work properly, been wrestling with that. Almost done setting the truck up with all the goodies.
From what I have learned so far I would have rather had another new 2015 then this truck.
Anyways done or not, next week I have to run down to Texas, then we'll see how it pulls.
