Is it a good idea to remove the plastic neck on Air box?

I bought a 2001 Quad Cab 4 WD Long Bed SLT Plus at the end of April. It was a demo with 5600 miles but never titled, so I'm the orginal owner. I have driven it to 8833 in two months and now find I have the engine front seal leaking. Of course it is under warranty. It is also under the recall for the steering column. What advice do you have? Should I just have the front seal replaced/repaired under warrany and not worry about it, or should I expect more? I bought the truck in Ohio but I live in northern Alabama, so I can't go back to the orginal dealer. Thanks!

If your breather bottle is still on it will make your front seal look like it is leaking. But if the seal is leaking I would get it replaced as soon as posible.

Suspect oil leak

I second Mog, The oil bottle in front makes a mess right away!! I just pulled mine off at 16,000 mi. Also the rings are not fully seated yet and the engine will have more blow-by. Get rid of the bottle and see. Remember... . any warranty work is only as good as the "person" working on your rig. I have, unfortunately, very little faith in dealerships. Again try the bottle removal, clean the area and see... . I posted what I did for my truck and the materials needed. good luck! Chris:D :D
