This may/will help some of you new truck owners a little !!! The new trucks are full of electrical "" glitches"" I heard from my dealer. I had my share as a new 2013 3500 owner. with my gear shift locking solid in the park position whenever i remotely started the engine?!? Took a full week with the dealer talking to Ram Techs to figure it out, it was a module configured for another model truck,!!!! And the electronic dash screens going off, and more weird goings on that had to do with the Uconnect system needing newer upgrades for the nav/cell phone/radio system. the last upgrade I did myself through Uconnect. Because i didn't want to wait all day for the dealer to do it!! I downloaded it from Uconnect site too my computer onto a thumb drive no bigger than 8GB, anything bigger and the trucks system will not read/take/work with it. This means any USB drive you wanna use in the truck, for music, etc.... has to be 8GB or less. A tech said I could try a 16GB, but to be sure it worked, stick with the 8GB. Truck also has to be running to personalize the EVIC personal settings. Found out the "dumb way" (not reading the manual) the steering wheel and seat warmer settings through EVIC, won't come on remote starting, unless the temp outside is below 40 degrees!! BTW that little manual thats in the glove compartment when you buy the truck to get you home, is very very basic. Go too the Ram web site register the truck and they'll send you a four inch high stack of manuals, which will cover a lot! And do read it :-laf I will say the people at Uconnect were very helpful with any/many issues I came across Oo.

That's interesting about the USB memory stick/thumb drive capacity. I have a 32GB stick that I use. It seems to work okay, though it caught a bit of an attitude when the cold weather set in. I reformatted it and reloaded my music on it and it seems to be working okay now. I just don't leave it in the truck when it gets really cold.

I'm printing this out to take with me when we go back to yet another dealership to see if we can get out truck issues taken came of. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Di

Yes 32 gig will be the largest at the moment as FAT32 is the only format supported. You can take a larger USB or even SD card if you have the reader and format the device as 32 gig FAT32. I have done this on several Rams and they work fine. You just lose the extra storage capacity is all.
