Ran down to Timberline Dodge for the Show-N-Shine. Had 1564 miles on the OD when I returned. Got 18. 56 MPG. Bombed the trottle a bit coming back and screwed around in the port of Tacoma looking for the CB shop that moved and was closed when I found it. Snow King

I would say that is excellent. I have a 2wd with 3. 54 gears. I got 21. 5 on a 1000 mile trip hauling a 4 wheeler in the bed. Drove between 70 -75 on freeway. My truck has almost 27,000 miles on it. (Signatrure below. ) Sounds like you have a goodun.

What do you think about the extra power with the 275's. Seems like that is a sensible upgrade. It should give that little bit extra and not strain the VP44 pump. Snow King

So far I really can't tell. All I have pulled is the 5x12 with a couple of mowers. It seems as if the truck is quicker and more responsive with less pressure on the throttle. We set the edge e-z to the middle notch.

Hey Snow King, my truck is up to 7600 miles. Last tow I got 13. 5 mpg and that was pulling two 6% grades coming and going. Empty, once I got back, 20. 5 mpg. 4. 10's with the 6 spd. I love it!!

I may be crazy, but I can't seem to tell any milage advantage from between the 3. 54s and the 4. 10s after reading hundreds of posts. I do know there is a lot of difference between 70 and 80 MPH. I have the 5 speed 3. 54s and the best I can do is 19. 5 at about 68 MPH. If I go to 75 the milage drops to about 15. 5 to 16. I changed to 235/85/16Es and I did notice a loss in power with the "higher gear" but I have not seen an increase in milage even when I compensete for spedo differences with the calculator. I can tell a diffrence in response in both take-offs and highway pulling power. I plan on getting a 6 speed with 4. 10s next time if someone here does't talk me out of it. I can not see any reason to give up power if the milage does not come up. I drive 60 K per year. 65% empty and 35% loaded to the gills.

I ran to Dallas and back yesterday(510. 4 miles to be exact) ran over 80 75% of the time sometimes as high as 90. Got 18. 5 MPG according to my calculator and 20. 5 according to my trip computer. I even blasted a honda going through Dallas. The EZ seems to make the trip computer exactly 2 MPG off almost every time I check it.

Thats the best mileage I have gotten out of anything. My toyota got better than that at normal highway speeds but with 5. 29 gears and 33s I was turning a little over 4K RPM at 80 so it never got driven on road trips much... . couldn't think or talk it was so loud inside. All you could hear over 70 was tires and exhaust. . no radio, no passenger... . my CTD seem so quite :D
