I have been thinking of trading my 99 in for a new 05 before they come out with that ugly thing in 06 ( Not to offend no one, just my opinion,,,,,very disappointed in Dodge )..... but the more I've been reading in the 3rd. gen. forum I'm not sure what to do... . I hear lot of problems with injectors, holes burning in #5 & 6 cylinders, I hear bout the frame not being able to handle a slide in camper or a utility bed cause the new frame may break behind the cab, transmissions not being able to pull small boats up out of a lake until the engine hit's 2600 rpm's,the death wobble ( Dealership say's it is normal  ) ... . I read about the bodies and bumpers rusting... . mine is a 99 with not one spot of rust yet... . NO WHERE... . I live in PA... . one of the salt capitols of the world... . I have had no major problems with it yet just normal maintance and some front end parts..... just thinking... ... trade it now b4 it starts to nickle and dime me... . The one thing I'm experiencing now is I have alittle play in the steering and it looks like it is in the steering box, right where the pitman arm fastens on it is rocking side to side as it turns... ... . Think maybe I would be better off fixing that and keeping it??????? Please reply and let me know what you all think. .

If the steering box isn't leaking, check out one of the DSS steering box stabilizers. Excellent brace attaches to the frame and stabilizes the shaft in the steering box. Even if you have to replace the box, the DSS will make the new one last longer. www.solidsteel.biz or www.piersdiesel.com have them as well as others. Between that and the 3rd gen track bar upgrade (same company) you should see a noticeable improvement! Fix it once, fix it right.
