First off a BIG THANKS to everyone that has guided me in my decision making process thus far.

I am in the final stages of purchasing a new 2002 3500 4x4 6 spd and need some specific information. I asked the dealer to throw in a "Service Manual" on top of the deal. He and his Parts dept claim to not understand what I am asking for and are suggesting I go to Amazon.com etc. to find a service manual.

Can anyone give me a DC part# for their Service Manual? Even if it is an older one I can then use this to explain to the dealer exaxtually what I am asking for. (Not an owners manual. )

I would like to finalize this deal asap.

Thanks in advance!

Erick

What's not to understand

I think they are messing with you. Tell them in a different way like you want a "shop" service manual like their mechanics use in the service dept. It's about $100 and about two and a half inches thick. I can't believe the service dept. guy didn't know what you were talking about. When I called my local dealer I didn't explain anything. I asked for a service manual for my '97 and the parts guy at the dealership said no problem- be in about a week and it's $95 plus tax.

I was in Riverside, Ca. about a month ago and had lunch with some friends as we rolled thru on the way to PHX. to pick up an RV. One of my friends had just bought a new 2500 QC ETH/DEE 4X4 loaded up with leather. When he told me he paid $37,500 for the truck, it was all I could do not to cry for him. WOW, those rigs are exspensive on the left coast. That rig has got to be 4 to 5 grand cheaper here than there. If he would have just called me, I could have ordered it here and had it delivered there. If you are not happy with the deal you have, call my dealer here in Tx. and he will have it sent to the dealer of your choice on a "Courtesy Delivery". 1 800 BOSSIER or www.bossiercountry.com Ask for Deanna. When you get "Giggles" on the phone, tell her I sent you and that you are a TDR member. She knows her trucks and sells almost a hundred units a month herself!

Service manual

EWeber,

OK here ya go.

The DaimlerChrysler Corporation Service Manual comes in two parts for the RAM Truck and covers the 1500 to 3500.

I don't have a parts number but you can call toll free 800 890 4038. That is the order number but they can give you more info if you need it. Or just supply that number to your dealer who is trying to bs you. :p

Get them down another 100 bucks and get it yourself. That way when you have warrany work done you'll know what's wrong when you take it in and they hate that. I can't complain though, my dealer has good mech's and is great with warranty work(luckily very little) one track bar and the hitch recall. Cobra, you probably know him too.
