new truck question

Am looking at new 2005 2500 quad with 48RE. 4X4..... Anything to look for special or anything to watch out for? Price is $11,000. 00 off MSRP. SLT with some extras but not the Laramie Pkg. Have the laramie of my 04 1/2 but this one for the farm. NO leather. 05 48RE smoother when going into lockup than the 04 1/2. Maybe should have the 04 1/2 1 ton checked out? Thanks for all your input. Can't get along without you guys.

Sounds like a great price.



Since you have a 04. 5 I assume you know to check fo the ~ 70 mph driveline vibration, launch shudder, etc.



Not much changed from 04. 5 to 05. the transmission program was one of the few things, and yes, it shifts much nicer in my opinion from the 04. 5's I test drove.



Also the tow/haul feature has chnged from a OD lockout to a modified shift program that does has no OD lockout, just delays shift to OD. Thre are strong opinions both ways on which is better, do a search



And the engine is now the "610" rather than the "600", just a program change, which is available for the 04. 5 as a TSB reflash. a little better mileage and a little quieter were usually reported with the reflash



Fuel lift pump in tank now.



Door seals redesigned later in year, TSB is out on that too.
