Well now, its time for me to learn about the 3rd gen trucks, I just picked up my new 05 yesterday. Traded in my 01 auto trans for the 6spd. So far at only 200 or so miles i really love this truck. On my way outside in a bit with the camera to get pics for my gallery. I'm looking forward to learning all you good people have to teach. :)

Congrats on the new ride. . Patriot Blue??? My only advice is MUD FLAPS ON ALL 4 TIRES! I had a 04 Patriot Blue on my last truck and lost the paint in less than 500 miles. I think I counted over 200 rock chips. It looked really bad as the paint on these trucks is way too thin and Robbie the Mexican Robot, only sprays what you see with the doors shut and the hood down. Lighter trucks don't show as much of the problem as the darker ones. My new ride is Atlantic Blue and Im very happy with the paint so far @ 4k miles.

Good luck and get those flaps!

Congrats on your new ride. I went to your gallery to see if you had new pic's yet. You have a couple of pic's with your 2001 parked next to a tanker & I was just wondering if you drove tanker?

I did drive tanker, hauling crude oil. I don't anymore though, now I haul FRAC tanks to the locations where they are drilling. I haven't had a chance to get the pics posted yet.

I'll look into the mud flaps asap, I can already see where chips and dings are going to be a pain.

Tanker Yanker, I've never hauled the refined stuff just the crude. Really enjoyed it but a better opportunity came along so I switched. I've done plenty of driving in Oregon but never with tanks.

Yep easiest driving job I've ever had thats why I'll retire here in 9 more yrs. Go to the pipeline, hook up punch in the gallons into the computer, drink your coffee while it loads. Head to a station hook up a drop hose & let it flow into the tank. It doesn't get much easier than that. Now if theses road warriors would just quit taking my saftey zone away we will all live alot longer.
