I gave some thought to trading in my '12 for a similarly equipped '16. Probably an upgrade to the Laramie Longhorn for a little nicer interior.
Part of the reason was for the Aisin and the higher torque as well as higher capacities.
Then I started looking at what the upgrade costs would be. If I was just looking at the truck, it's probably a decent trade off BUT I actually thought ahead and started figuring in all the things I've done to the current truck.
TorkLift Hitch
Hellwig Stablizer
B&W Hitch
Air Bags w on board compressor
HapiJak tie downs
Yes I have both a Camper and a 5th wheel... long story...
But, when you add all this stuff up it's well north of $5k. Of course none of it will fit the newer frame.
So, the additional money puts it over the top for a trade, to say nothing of the labor to install all the hitches and wiring.
I think my under powered 68 RFE 2012 will do for a while longer
BTW They are REALLY dealing with the last of the '16s. Less than what I can do with my Affiliate Program discount!
