I finally broke down and bought my own truck. I had been borrowing/modding my brothers for 2 years and just hated driving my Jeep after having his truck. :D

Got it Saturday. 03 Dodge 3500, silver, HO Cummins, 6 speed, Laramie

Need to get 500 miles on it have the gooseneck installed and put the 13,000 pounds of 4x4's behind it and break this motor in. It's really tight. Then I can mod it. :D

Anyone else that has drove older models notice that between shift the 03's seem to keep the revs up? Caught me off guard on the test drive. But now I really like it.

Here the truck and the junk I pull.

Sorry about the Ford in the back ground of that last pic! LOL I won't let him park in the driveway. ;) But he can come over since it's dyno'd at over 425 hp and 1000 tq at the rear wheels.

I'm going to my buddies shop Saturday to get the windows done and get some floor mats. You know cause floor mats are just to expensive to put in a $44,000 truck from factory.

And I think I am going to order/beg/borrow/steal a sport grill. The dealer I got it at didn't have any silver sports or I would have made them switch em. :D

I've noticed the lag in RPM drop between shifts. I think it has something to do with emmisions and how the ECM is programmed.

Something else I've noticed is when cruise control is engaged there is not a direct linkage between the cruise control and throttle. In my '99 the throtle pedal would depress as the cruise control commanded more fuel. I'm thinking that now it may all be handled by electronics between the ECM, fuel pump, and associated sensors. Just a guess as it's hard to see what is going on while the truck is moving 35+ MPH.

Mine does the same thing... ... . takes awhile to get used to it.

You are correct about the cruise control being operated by the PCM. Our HO 03' CTD's do not have any vaccum pumps, and therefore the PCM operates the cruise. For your info, the HVAC controls are operated by reversable DC electric motors.

Wayne, thanks for the helpful information. I promise not to rag on synthetics anymore as I've recently begun using Redline Synthetic Racing Two Stroke oil in my Banshee. Good stuff.
