I would bet its from the p2000 code, do you idle your truck?

ENGINE OR FUEL MODIFICATIONS THAT EXCEED OEM SPECIFICATIONS

ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION ENSOR

ENGINE CONTROL MODULE (ECM)





P2000-NOX ABSORBER EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD - BANK 1



Possible causes:

MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR

O2 SENSORS

EGR LEAKS

BOOST SYSTEM LEAKS

USE OF HIGH SULFUR FUEL

TAMPERING OR REMOVAL OF THE NAC

DEGRADED OR POISONED NAC

EXHAUST, EGR OR INTAKE LEAKS



I have 24k miles on the truck now and since new, I have had the exhaust brake kick in while going up a hill (EB was not engaged on the dash) twice. I would get off the throttle and then it would stop. Wonder if it relates to the actuator. The last time was several months ago.



What is a NAC?



Truck is completely stock.

We have been on the road traveling since April and had stopped in Peoria, Illinois, for the 15K maintenance schedule. I have a little over 14K and have put most of these miles on since April, while on this trip. I complained to the Dealership about poor mileage, like we all should do with our 6. 7L. The Dealership performed TSB 18-013-08 and said that this TSB was to improve the poor mileage. In reading the Thread from Mopartech, this would have nothing to do with improving mileage. I have had the G30 recall done and that is all; no codes what so ever. What do you all think? Are they trying to just get us in and out the door?

The P/U Aftertreatment consists of a Closed Coupled Catalyst (CCC) The CCC is a Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) that is mounted very close to the turbocharger exhaust outlet. It is a metallic flow through substrate coated with a catalyst washcoat that is essential to the integrated operation of the aftertreatment assembly. The close coupled DOC treats engine exhaust gases by converting harmful carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and other compounds into water, carbon dioxide and heat. The ability to create heat is an important part of the system regeneration process.



NOx ADSORBER CATALYST (NAC): The NAC is located downstream of the CCC. Using the heat and exhaust constituents coming from the CCC, the NAC traps various oxides of nitrogen, and then converts those into Carbon Dioxide, Nitrogen (N2) and water via a regeneration process controlled by the engine's electronic control module (ECM). The NAC also plays a role in reducing non-methane hydrocarbons (NMHC) from the exhaust gas.



DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER (DPF): The diesel particulate filter (DPF) is a wall-pass ceramic filter substrate coated with a catalyst washcoat. It is located just downstream of the NAC. Exhaust gases flow from the NAC into the catalyzed diesel particulate filter (DPF) which traps and accumulates particulate matter, and further treats the exhaust gases to reduce any remaining unburned hydrocarbons and other harmful compounds. The trapped particulate matter will be periodically removed from the DPF via a regeneration process controlled by the engine's electronic control module (ECM).





The Cab Chassis Aftertreatment consists of a combination diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC)/Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF). The diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) is a ceramic flow through substrate coated with a catalyst washcoat that is integral to the DOC/Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) assembly. The close coupled DOC treats engine exhaust gases by converting harmful carbon monoxide, unburned hydrocarbons and other compounds into water, carbon dioxide and heat.
 
Well, after driving the truck harder than I normally drive, the CEL has gone and the codes are no longer displayed.



I'm still going to the dealer on Friday morning for an oil change. We'll see if the codes are still in the system and I'll let you know.
