My truck was throwing an overboost code as well as the usual companion code. I was experiencing a loss of power and surging at full throttle in the higher RPM range (2,200 to 3,300 rpm). I took the truck in and told them about it. I was thinking either a MAP sensor or fuel pressure/VP44 issues. The dealership just called me to tell me that the trubo was the problem and that they are replacing it. I asked if I could have the old one. They said no.
The truck has just over 34,000 miles on it. When I started having power issues, the turbo sounded no different to me. Does this make sense to any of you guys? I've been pleased with this dealer for the most part, so I'm thinking that I'll let them start throwing parts at the truck.
I have never had any kind of fueling/timing or other box on this truck. Except for the BHAF and straight pipe, this truck is a stock 2002 H. O. 6-speed 4x4.
Thanks!
