i am getting ready to buy a new turbo and i was just wanting some recomendations. i have what is in my signature minus the banks automind and big hoss i have a ddufm instead. i am starting to pull the truck so i need a turbo that i can run with my current setup and maybe more to come. i do not want to spend the money to get twins so that is out of the question. thanks for yalls help.

My opinion:

If you plan to stay with DD or BD stage 3 injectors or less, and in the 400 HP or lower range, the Piers HX40 hybrid should be absolutely the best bet. I have a bone stock non-PDR HX40, and it is awesome, except for too much lag when drag racing.

I am very seriously watching the threads on his new PDR HX50/55 hybrid myself... ... . which might be the way to go if you want to go beyond the 400 HP mark and with nasty large injectors :D Either it or Kwik Kurts B1 turbo...

By the way, I don't tow or haul much. I managed to get 439 HP on the dyno in January this year with my current setup.

If you're going to keep your current setup with 2's and UFM and tow with the box on low or off, get a PDR35. I like mine. If you are gonna tow with the box on or up or later on add bigger injectors I'd get a PDR40. And seeing that you have a ETH I'd get a PDR40 anyway to make sure it stays cool.

I tow with the pdr-40/16 and could not ask for a better turbo. I live at 5000 ft and often pull 10,000-17,000 lbs up I-70, but the egts are lower than ever. My point is that stage 2's and any extra fueling will spool the 40 just fine. The evil powers of BOMBing will eventually out grow the pdr-35. JMO

Bought my B-1 from HVAC and love it. Either way, you can't go wrong with the PRD40 or the B-1. If price is an issue, the B-1 is quite a bit more expensive. It's been on my truck for almost 20,000 miles and going. However if you tow with your truck at all, the B-1 chatters allot more than the PDR40. Both are great choices.
