Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New Turbo!!

My new HX 40/35 Hybrid w/ 16 cm Exhaust housing came today!!!Oo. Oo. Oo. I got it from HT Turbo and had them do the "stage 3" kit which includes the 70mm 6 blade compressor wheel. I am stoked!! Compressor housing gets painted tonight and turbo goes on Tuesday!!! Oo. Oo.

Isn't it a 60mm wheel?



That was pretty fast. Didn't you send it in only a week or so ago?I am curious to hear you comparison to stock. Please keep us posted.

Actually I sent it off Thursday night and they got it Friday. I would have had it back Saturday expect Fed Ex dropped the ball. I just got done shooting a coat of paint on the compressor housing. 1 more coat late tonight and then cure all day tommorrow. I will put it on tommorow night probably. 5" exhaust goes on Wed morning so egt decrease from turbo alone will be hard to gauge. I am excited!!!

Got the new turbo in last night (thanks for the help mgoncalves!) So far havent got to play with it, I am trying to be good and break it in right. but from the get go you can tell theres more compressor there, it has a lower pitch whirl sound instead of the high pitch squeal and thats at 10lbs. I cant wait to get a few miles on it and see what she does!!

HT Turbo

Hey Jeff, Where did you order your turbo from.

What did that Turbo cost, and (echo) where did you get it? Also I am interested if (after a few test drives ) if you think that's the turbo to get for our engines or if you wish you had gotten something else!!

Sorry guys, didnt see the posts building up here. Had HT Turbo do the job for me www.htturbo.com They do great work and turnaround time is usually same day shipped in, same day shipped out. I did the stage 3 kit which was $300 plus the shipping cost. Course I had the 16 housing I wanted so my cost only involved the compressor side of the show and the labor to have it done.



Personally, I am very pleased with the turbo. Spool up is great considering I have a high altitude truck. However, I found very quickly at my HP level this is not enough turbo for me. I think for a truck in the 350-425 range this turbo would be perfect! But... . I am very excited as I think this turbo will be just right as the little turbo in my twins setup! Oo. Oo.
