2000 Ram new VP-44 / FASS set up drove about 500 miles then about five or six times the truck would be going along fine and the eng will just loos all throttle and go to an ideal, pull over and then just take off as nothing was wrong but CHECK ENG LIGHT COMES only code is the darn P-1693???

Get a code reader and see if you can recover anything. Could be your apps is going bad. It will produce codes 0121 and 0122.
 
Your apps probably needs to be recalibrated. This is often forgotten when RR VP-44. First disconnect both batts. and apps. then wait 30min. Step 1 reconnect apps and then reconnect batts. Step 2 TURN ON ING. SWITCH, SLOWLY PRESS GAS PEDAL TO THE FLOOR AND SLOWLY RELEASE ONE TIME ONLY. THEN TURN KEY OFF. Now you can start truck test drive. If condition persist then your apps is probably going bad. I have had them go bad anywhere from 40000mi to 140000mi. Geno`s is your best source.
