Well had installed new VP and the fuel lift pump presssure at idle and operating has dropped 2. 5 lbs . it is getting to the 8psi and am wondering if I should have the lift pump changed as well???? It now bucks very well at idle this is a 200plus RPM drop were it bucked from before? I find it pretty bad that it can't go down a grade with out this problem!!!! No shan't get rid of it yet!!!! Does anyone know what code 211 is it isn't in my maintenance manual ????????? And the paramaters on the engine cooling system the place that did the pump didn't want to redyno the engine for fear of scuffing the engine the engine was 220 *f and the rad was 114 and 86 for the top and the bottom of the rad. This doesn't sound too hot for my way of thinking???? Sugestions please??????:-{} :-{} ::-{}

Sounds like the VP was not the trouble, need a good Cummins trouble shooter as I guess you have already decided. My guess would be either the cam position sensor or the throttle position switch (also known as APPS on 24 valve truck). Where are they getting the 220F engine temp with 114F coming into the top of the radiator? A code PO222 is "Problem detected with idle validation circuits within APPS". bg

VP-44 pump

Sorry must inquire about some of what was said!!!! Was this validation code for code P0211???? or P0 222 Sorry must ask where I can find a Cummins trouble shooter ???? Not satisified so far as such. I do believe that the engine temp of 220*f is from the Insight tool that they use! I took the temps with the Infared tool from work on different areas as listed above . There is difinantly a shift is were it bucks from before must have to do with the fuel delivery curve of the engine????? Can I ask the MDH of your truck for curiosity sake????? There was three codes that I had the other day 0230 , 1692 and 1683 I do belive except the codes are in my room who annoying Does anyone else have different CODES that are used that we others don't have?????? Thank You for helping. I found out the other day that they send the DEALERS updates on the Maintance Manuals Did anyone else know that?????????????

VP

Sorry, I just made a mistake, the code I found was po222, I don't have 211 in my manual either. MDH? 99, 3500, auto, 3:54 rear, 215 HP. I have had my manual for 4 years and no updates. Can't help you with the trouble shooter, just wishful thinking I guess. bg

Is the 211 code from a Cummins shop or a Dodge shop? I'm assuming since it not P0211 that it is from a Cummins shop. Cummins has diffrent codes than what Dodge has. The cross refrence that I have says the Cummins code 211 means p1693 fault in chrysler jtec module.

I haven't read you previous posts. What was your truck originally doing? What codes where present? What where the results of the diag tests for the codes? What parts have been replaced? Has anything changed what how or when the truck has the problem? What codes do you have now?

Vp-44 pump

Well I hate to do things twice but here goes again. B. G MDH Month Day hour in the lower left side of the sticker in the door. Mine is 10 10 19 . It wasn't a Friday vehicle too my calander although it has always been one!!!!!!! The P0211 code then has showen up as the P01693 which it has done and the other code is P01682. So reading the manual on this doesn't tell me what I need to knnow . Does anyone else know what these coded messages point one to for I'am no wiser after reading the short abreviations to look to. The reduced fueling because of high heat is gone from the list that was set some 28 starts ago.
