I have a friend that I convinced to buy the Dodge instead of a Ford. He called when he was ready for a new one and asked what to buy. He listened and bought an '02 3500 cab and chassis with an HO/6speed. The truck has about 50,000 miles on it. He has been very well pleased and hasn't had any problems until recently. The VP44 went out, dealer replaced lift pump first, that didn't fix so they replaced VP44 next. He owns a tractor dealership and pulls a small gooseneck, never pulls very much weight. Since the pump was replaced, the truck has very little power. On a 4 mile flat stretch of road, it will run 65 mph, grossing less that 20,000 lbs. It is sick compared to the way it ran before. He goes back to the dealer, they check the truck and tell him that the pressure had been reduced on the replacement pumps and there is nothing wrong. He bought the HO for the extra power and now they have taken that away-doesn't seem right to me. Seems like they would have to keep it the way he bought it. Has anyone else heard of such a thing or have any idea what may be the problem?
