i am replacing my vp44 tomorrow
and since it took every dime i had
i am compiling a shopping list
air brake line
mechanical gauge
needle valve
a couple of flare fittings of some sort
but i do have a question
cant i just go off the shrader valve on the vp44 for my gauge without removing the guts of that valve?
it seems like if i ever wanted to verify the accuracy of my gauge i simply remove the connection on the shrader and connect my test gauge?
i have been reading on this website for 2 weeks trying to find the answers to my questions.
so please dont think i am simply being lazy
stupid yes
lazy no

i figured it out
tapped snubber bolt goes on the input of the vp44 with a needle valve (in case of leaks) then run the air brake tubing to gauge

I put my tapped bolt at the filter outlet(bottom), with flexible line to isolator, then plastic line with anti freeze into the cab. Schrader is still available for my manual test gauge. I did not want diesel in cab. I drilled out the side holes and center on Schrader a bit. Measuring pressure before the filter will not notify you that you filter is plugged up and needs changing.

Small white plastic line to gauge is inside another larger black line to protect it going into cab. Snoking
