Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) New VP44... Starting problems gone!

I got my new VP44 installed last week and it is running like champ. Truck was getting harder and harder to start. Problem solved! Fires first time everytime, just like a new one!

Congrats. Did you do the work yourself? How much of a PITA is changing one of these critters?

Had the work done...

at a reputable DIESEL shop in a near by town. They have always done great work on all of our diesel engines and the shop manager runs a 24 valve Cummins.



According to them (talked at length concerning my baby) it is a straight forward change and not near the PITA as the 12 valve engines. Took them no more than 2 hours start to finish. That is definitely better than I could have done.
