Hi,

My Truck is going to be painted sometime in the next three weeks (everything from the factory pinstriping up on the front part of the truck. ) I thought that it would be a good time to replace the old weatherstrips around all the windows while I'm at. Any place in particular where I can find good quality weatherstrips for our old Dodges? Any how to tips would also be appreciated. It seems straight forward, but I've never had to install weatherstrip before.

Thanks.

Tom

I got the pieces that fit where the window rolls down into, I believe that they are called wipers, from the dealership.

You need one of each for each door. 4-total. About $33/ea I didn't check but they might have the channel that fits in the upper part of the door as well. It seems like the dealer stuff is better quality than the JC Whittney/aftermarket stuff when you can get it.

The guys are right, the dealer seal are better quality. I tried some door seals from Whitney and they didn't last a month before they started cracking. Got some from the dealer and after 3 years they are still fine. Cost is higher at the dealer but this seems to one of those"you get what you pay for" situations.

Thanks for the comeback guys. I need to visit my dealer anyway for one or two other items. Like you say Paccool, you get what you pay for and I try not to give my truck second best.

I got those wipers that Earl mentioned. I REALLY didn't want to pay that much for small pieces of rubber..... but last winter was the first year that my left arm didn't freeze up while driving.

Get the good stuff to start. It's worth it.
