Hello all possibly someone has seen this before and can offer up some assistance, I just installed new hub/bearing assemblies and outer universal joints on my 2006 Dodge 3500 CC dually.

I read through the 10 pages of 120 posts about ABS in archives and didn't see anything quite like what I'm seeing.

Now I'm getting ABS errors I was not getting before, (4) coded stored 1st time C1036, C101C, C1011, C2206 I installed Timken hubs p/n HA590032 which are supposed to be the ones I need, the plugs on the new hub did not mate to the truck harness, I modified the new plug with my Dremel to fit/ mate to the old harness, "why did you do that" I had already fully assembled the hubs/axles etc. and not looking to pull apart again easier to trim the new plug to match the existing on vehicle harness.

Are the sensors polarity sensitive ? it is an A/C signal generated by the Hal pickup, so should not matter, that said the driver side vehicle harness (2) wire is green solid, and green with brown tracer stripe on other side, passenger side is (2) wire green solid, and green with white tracer stripe.

Any thoughts ???

I posted the above last Friday, apparently in an archived area and I didn't realize that, anyway I found the answer by calling Timken bearing directly,

Apparently in 2006 there was a change in design, so that some 2006s actually got the 2005 hubs in them ...that would be me grrrr , so Thankfully it turns out same hubs both years just different sensors, old sensor is magnetic, new is HAL effect type, sensors interchange in the hubs, so swapping old sensor into the new hubs worked.

Unfortunately Timken is no longer making the old style sensor for sensor only sale, anybody know the part # for the 2005 vintage ABS wheel speed sensors ?

Tim

Go to Rockauto and enter your truck info. You can see the difference in connectors between the 05 and 06. On some items you can get oem parts.

Thank you for the replies, in the second post I indicated that swapping old sensors to the new hubs corrected my issue for now, going forward I was thinking of the what if scenario, one or both of the used but good sensors from my old hubs in my new hubs crapping out, and Timken saying they no longer have just the sensors in their inventory.

So I was looking for an alternate source part # of the sensor, MGree do you happen to know the part # of the Standard products sensor you used, or where you purchased them from possibly and I can back track from there possibly.

I replaced one of my front sensors last summer with the standard products brand with no issues so far.

Internet running slow so I didn't realize the double post my apologies for 2x posing same info:

Thanks to all of you for the replies, in the second post I made I stated that swapping the old ABS speed sensors into my new hubs corrected my problem for now.

Thinking ahead now of the what if scenario should one or both of my vintage "used but good" sensors from old hubs into the new ones become "used and now bad" occur.

Compounded with information Timken stating they no longer make the sensor that is working now, that as back up I should seek out a part # for the sensor itself in event a failure does occur later, sooo...:D

MGreer you said you purchased a Standard part last summer? any chance you have the part # for that sensor? Or do you recall where you purchased it, and I can track down from there ?

Lastly for the rest of the group as well, do the 1500, 2500, and 3500 from the 2005 early 2006 share the same ABS speed sensor part?

I bought mine from Rockauto.com, standard motor products #ALS102. The 05 and 04 have the same part number. They use a different part number for 4wd or not. You can do a search for a rockauto discount and get 5% off, usually covers shipping cost.

Part number from 2004/2005 which might work for you could be:

SENSOR KIT, Anti-Lock Brakes
2WD 05093834AA Includes Sensor, Bolt, Wire, Instr. Sheet, Right or Left
4WD 05103493AA Includes Sensor, Bolt, Wire, Instr. Sheet, Right or Left (See also Amazon ASIN B082KBFB67)
