Hello all,

this is my first diesel and will never own a gas truck again. What should i do first in the many steps of bombing this thing. I've already removed the slinceler ring and have ordered the afe intake kit. not sure what exhaust to get. I have a 03 2500 so. and to a 2500lb car trailer with a 3800lb jeep scrambler on it. so far i can't find a hill steed enough to take it out of overdrive. I always drive with a huge smile.

Kory

By the way:

my truck came with 315 bfg ko's and no lift. still tons of room and no rubbing.

Get your gauges first!! EGT and Boost for sure, and Fuel pressure as well.

What Jean said. Probably have an auto transmission? Need transmission temp. gauge also if you do.

Welcome ROCKJEEP!

Glad to see you're enjoying your new truck! I would echo the comments about gauges... . a must for BOMBing. I would also suggest that if you're going to add any HP/Torque upgrades you make sure your transmission can handle them first! You'll be much better off in the long run! Have fun, -Ken

Being a tower

Some how that doesnt look right, I'm not a tower, I tow! My first bomb was a set of fast coolers (Mag-Hytec double deep pan for an auto) and my next was a Mag-Hytec diff cover. Gotta keep the running gear cool.

Will get the gauges. My dodge dealer reprogramed the computer for the tires. Its just as simple as hooking up the computer and selecting the tire size. 315 is a size thats avable to choose. Does anybody have the digital gauge pod from bd and do you like it. thank everyone for there input, as everyone is aware diesel parts are expensive and I only want to get them once.

You gotta tell us more about the reprogramming for the 315's. There's another thread floating around here that indicates the 315's are outside of the program limits.

Have you actually checked the accuracy of your speedo? GPS? I'm wondering if your dealer set it at 636 in which case your speedo would be about 6% off.

Very, very interesting. . Can you get any more information from your dealer? Did he go change the settings in the "UNKNOWN" rear end? We've been told that only goes down to 636 revs/mile. . But if you're picking 315 tire size and not revs/mile, that must be something else entirely.
