Hey gang. I just joined and thought I should introduce myself.

Here is my story.

My name is Lonnie. I am a tool and die maker living in Boise, Idaho. I have been lusting for a Cummins Dodge since the first time I drove my fathers '01. Well, I finally have one. I just bought an '02. I looked around here quite a bit and just couldn't bring myself to spend the $29,000. 00 (which is what they were all asking for here). I did get one dealer talked down to $25,500. 00 for an 01 with 60k on it. But, I told them I wouldn't go a nickel over 25k. As it ends up, I found one a dealer in Arizona was offering. After checking it all out with all the internet reports etc. I paid 24k for this one fully loaded with only 15k miles on it. It is silver sport trim package. And I absolutely love it. (I wish it was a 6 speed, though). First thing done was to put some decent tires on it and Line-X the bed. Now, I need to figure out all the little tricks to pump her up some. Nothing really radical. Air intake, exhaust, and power module is all for now. Anyone have any suggestions, horror stories, recommendations, etc?

Anyway, I wanted to thank everyone involved in this site. There is an amazing amount of info here. Keep up the good work, gang.

I know very little about diesels (which I am trying to change). When it comes to working on the motorcycle, snowmobile, etc. I can hold my own. So I ask that you please extend me a little grace as I learn.

24 Valve Upgrades

I would have to suggest that your first mod being gauges, boost egt and most important a fuel pressure gauge is a must if you want your vp44 injection pump to last. Then watch out for the bombing bug it is very addictive. Have Fun!!Oo.

Welcome aboard Lonnie. Like said gauges first & maybe a mild box like the Edge EZ no pump wire tap. Or the Edge comp. used as a EZ then you can tap the pump wire later when you feel the need for more hp. A BHAF air filter or a Scotty II If you get into serious hp bombing then your going to have to upgrade your transmission if it's an auto or a better clutch if it's a manual.

There are several nw bombers members near you like Eric said drop in on the local site but watch out for that Mad Bomber, he will push you down the slippery slope.

Hey wait a minute I resemble that remark Glen. I NEVER MAKE them mod there truck they just come to the DARK SIDE:eek:

Thanks for all the input. I forgot to mention the guages.

Would anyone know who is good to deal with around here. If I could find a member of the board here that was a parts house/shop . That would be the guy I would hire. As it sits, I am a little apprehensive of the shops I have spoken with thus far.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks again
