How Many Miles are on your CTD

I just purchased my first CTD truck, and need a few simple questions answered.

1) Where can I get a device that will read any codes, should my truck need it.

2) What are the TSB's, and where can I find out if one pertains to my truck. (Is it easy to convice a dealer to apply a TSB??)

3) I'd like to find a local shop that can install the gauges I purchase. (I'm a computer geek by trade, and I think I'd royally screw up adding anything to my truck besides floor mats, and stickers :)

Thanks!!

Chris

Congrats on your new CTD. As far as a decent code reader someone else may have that answer. You can find the TSB's on the menu bar above. Or just ask and someone here can point you in the right direction. Joining TDR was a big plus, everyone is awesome. Guages are extremely easy... Trust me.

congratulations on your new baby,

seeing as how you are into computers, you may want to check into the downloadable software available for your laptop.

do a search on "odb-2"

at least one of our members is quite knowledgeable in this area.

check ebay - they have code reading/programming devices there from time to time.

you may want to check our classified area also.

good luck

You can read the codes by cycling the key three times, turn it full on with the truck off but do not start, on the third turn if any codes are present they will display in the odometer window. I do not know if there is anywhere TSBs are listed for the '04. 5s you can check here, http://dodgeram.info/tsb/index.html they have TSBs for the '03 and '04s.

Thanks for the great info! I had no idea that Dodge had any facilities to read codes in stock form. Pretty nice.

I'm ordering a new intake and filter for the truck tonight. I am confident I can install that on my own; however I still think I'm going to need help with the Gauge Installation.

BTW 17. 8MPG today at 2114 miles. (I used the Cruz set at 65 for the entire trip home from work. ) After this tank of fuel, I"m going to ease the cruz up to 70, and see what the difference is. (Paid 1. 49 per gallon at the reservation today, I wish it was that cheap everywhere. )
