New guy, here, just bought my first diesel ('05 Quad Cab 3500 SRW). Will be used mainly as a tow rig for my jeep. I'm not looking for modify the truck a lot, but would like to open it up a little bit to squeeze some more power out of it. I've searched around this forum and now am thoroughly overwhelmed

Can somebody point me in the right direction. I'm essentially looking for a good combo of basic mods that won't affect driveablility, won't break the bank too bad, and will just make towing over passes that much easier.

Any help would be appreciated. I was hoping to find a "dumb newbie FAQ" on diesel mods somewhere.

I'm also looking for links to good places to buy goodies for the truck.

Thanks.

Hi, and welcome to the forum!

There is a section titled "First time Cummins Diesel Owners", check that out, it has a lot of good answers.

As far as a stupid question, there really isn't one, only a stupid mistake!

So, ask away... .....

You should be careful about voiding your warranty with adding more power. Doesn't sound like you need the power if you're just towing a jeep. I've pulled 10K over the rockies twice and never felt short of power. . not even close. Of course, if you want the power that's another story.

Here are two places I like. Geno's Garage is legend on this site. Great prices and service.

Truckaddons is also a good place to look at.

Good luck. . enjoy your truck!
