Hello All, new member looking to buy my first RAM truck. I'm looking at a '15 3500 Big Horn DRW. It has the Aisin, 3.73s and rear air suspension. The truck has 107,000 miles on it.
I looked at the Carfax report and it looks like all maintenance and recalls have been done at the scheduled time at 3 different Dodge dealerships.
Anything I should be concerned with or look at specifically? Should I worry about the mileage?
Thanks for any and all advice

Poke around on the threads here for some research, should be able to get the Ins and outs of of em. If they have done the maintenance and recalls, should be about as good to go as can be, considering used. Other than that, go big or go home I always say! It's a good engine and good truck.

Sounds like someone was hotshot'ng with it with those miles. We have put a lot of miles on our 2015 starting at Sept 2015 and we have 27K, 1450 of that was in the first 48 hours driving it home from dealer in Colorado. 2.5 trips between Washington and Arizona, the remaining .5 trip will be in a couple weeks. Should be heavily discounted based on miles on a truck that new.

Have you compared the price with a new truck? Sometimes they want as much for an used one as a new one. New is easier and cheaper to finance if you are going the route.

Check the hour meter and compare it with the mileage and get an average mph . Sources say you want it to be at least 35mph. My concern is the emission as they are out of warranty now

Dealer is asking $35k, a new one is $65k. I think I can get a little more off the price and negotiate an extended warranty. I test drove the truck last night and it seems to be in very good condition and well maintained.
The only thing I noticed is it seems sluggish off the line and shifts quickly, and it lags when downshifting on the highway. From what I've read this is normal although annoying and would take some getting used too.
Thanks for the advice so far.

I think you should shop around... I bought my 2014 3500 DRW Tradesman with 32,000 miles for $36,300. Unless you are dead set on the nicer interior, I chose to take 70,000 less miles!

Sluggish off the line sounds normal. Shifting that is a little odd also sounds normal. I assume with 107K miles it is not one of those trucks that vibrates at 65-75 mph, which would be one thing to test out thoroughly and carefully with any truck, new or used, from any manufacturer and not accept when they say "it's just the tires, no problem".

I second the advice about warranty and thinking about buying a lower model Ram either new or with much lower mileage. Aside from not having to pay for repairs, as a newbie you might want to have the ability to take it to the dealer for free if ever you think something isn't right. They don't charge for "it is normal".
