Welp, an intro and a question...

Name is Greg and I just pulled the trigger on an 06 2500 SLT QC 4X4 Auto SWB.
This isn't my first smoker, I ran a 6. 9 non turbo Ford for about 200K and went to gas rigs until now. I'll be doing some towing so I figured I'd get in on the discounts ($5500 + Associates Discount through work for just over 10500 off the sticker). I'm an old fart and retiring in about 3 years.

I've been lurking for quite some time and joined TDR a couple weeks ago to get the members functions/topics. Thanks for all the info! I think I have a handle on the weak points and now for the question. The first of many I'm sure.

Can you add the 2 micron filter without blowing the factory warranty? I did a search but didn't find anything definate.

Check with your dealer,they all seem to have a different position on these matters. Some fight any mods while others like my local dealer will install them and still cover warranty.

it all depends on the dealer. some will fault you for it but really they cant do anything about it. there is no way to prove that extra filtration caused any damage. but then other dealers will encourage it because they know how terrible the stock filtration really is.

Thanks Folks. I talked to the service manager and he seems to be ok with it. He only cautioned that if there were filter parts in the injection system he would deny any claims but overall thought it was a good idea.

Greg, Welcome to TDR. I wouldn't put a decal in a side window if I were concerned about warranty... no matter what the service manager said. Doesn't matter how good the system you install. . it will draw suspicion. JMO!
