Another DUMB box question

OK guys and gals, I've been reading from the board from a while. This will be my first post here.

I have a question thats been bothering me for a while.

I'm trying to figure out how to visually determine an HO from an SO.

I ask because my truck seems to have come in with all the wrong parts in it and no one at the dealer noticed. The back window was clear and all the others were tinted. The seats were not the premium cloth I ordered, the rear floor panels were not on the truck and the radio was the standard not the upgraded cd with extra speakers ordered. The other night I thought, "what if they installed the wrong engine" I looked it over quickly and can't find a designation for the High Output.

PS. Love my truck to death but this has been bothering me. Can someone tell me where to locate the HO emblem???

Look at the driver's side of the head. Near the front, you will find a sticker that tells the HP & torque ratings for your engine.

Give us some more info about your truck. Year, model, VIN would help too. The letter "C" in the 8th digit of the VIN is a HO diesel. A "6" would be a SO. If it's a 6 speed, those only came with the HO.

If you wanted the flat storage space, you'd better talk to the dealer as it's $1000 for the parts to do it aftermarket.

Yeah, My truck was really screwed up. I wouldn't be surprised if the vin # said one thing and the truck had another. It was funny to see how the window sticker showed all these options supposedly on the truck but in fact they were not there or just wrong completely. I'm going to check the actual engine and see what I find.

When I figure it out, I'll ask for some advice on how to get some more grunt out of it.

re

Its the SLT quad cab sport package.

I just checked the head on the motor. Its a 305 so that settles my nerves a little bit.

OK, next question. I drive the heck out of this truck 27K mi's since November '03. Mostly highway 1/2 the time pulling approx 9,000 lbs trailer.

I've been reading all the posts re. the different boxes available now and I'm thinking that there are basically two ways to go.

1. A box that changes the fuel pressure and 2. a box that increases the boost on the turbo.

I plan on keeping this thing until the wheels fall off so if I'm using it everyday what types of things should I look for in all these boxes.

My last vehicle was a GMC w/8. 1 L that had a Superchips tuner but I dind't notice all that much difference. I know that you get alot more out of a diesel tuner but I don't want to kill this motor too quickly.

Any suggestions of where to start??

wrong truck????

Did you order your truck? Just food for thought; maybe they had one that looked looked the one you got and called you to pick it up. if you ordered it double check the vin number, and equipment that was ordered. get on the dealer... . Your the customer he needs to make you happy if this is a new truck.

Was it new?? and when purchased.

do a signature so we can see what you have.

All that, and you took the truck? I would have refused it with all that missing. It ain't the truck you ordered. And are paying for.

One stupid comment about the windows... .

I have never understood why Dodge continues to sell trucks with the rear door windows tinted, but the rear window is not. Unless you order the slider...

It was the same way on my '97. Now, I have no need for a slider, but I have to get my rear window tinted in the aftermarket.

I really considered telling them to stick it but I had waited so long for the truck to arive and I was already excited to get rid of my GMC I just couldn't wait another two months (into winter) to get a new truck so I figured I'd take my chances. Its not easy to come by a ho QC in my area. No dealers have them in stock so they all get ordered.
