I just got the newest flash for my 09 today. They called it 18190478 but the other posts refer to flashes as letters (AS) ect. So far it seems to run the same. This one is said to desoot at idle if needed.

What gets them to give you the latest flash? Do they do it automatically if you bring it in for an oil change.

My understanding from Mike Mullenax who is a Dodge dealer diesel tech is that at one time you had to have a valid complaint like a CEL but now Dodge has authorized the dealers to perform the latest flash on request. I guess they figured out it is in their best interest to pay for a reflash service and avoid a serious warranty soot issue.

If your dealer has a knowledgeable trustworthy Cummins tech go in and ask them to check your VIN in their computer and determine if software updates are available.

They give ya a new flash any time you go back to the dealer with a CEL, it keeps people tricked into thinking maybe this time it will make a difference!!LMAO I think mine has been flashed about 5 times, nothing changes... ...

I asked for the newest flash and at first they didn't want to do it. I told them a cel was on for a day ,( I believe it was 04202) and then they went ahead with it.

The number that you posted, 18190478, Is the Chrysler labor operation number used by the Dealer to file a claim to Chrysler so they can get paid for the repair of your vehicle.

Mike

Yes, that number is the chrysler authority number, but the under hood sticker just says flash ecm with date done. I was just wondering what letter they are up to now.

I had not heard of thr 09 needing a reflash,? How can I find out if I should get this done.

Check with your Chrysler/Dodge dealer,Ask them if they would check for and updated ECM Flash/Calibration. If they tell you that they won't be able to check for a updated flash unless you are having a issue They are misinformed.

If you are still within the warranty Time/Mileage perameter, The flash will be paid for by Chrysler/Dodge.

If that fails, Next time you take your vehicle for a oil change, Tell them your fuel mileage has dropped off and ask them if they would check it out.

I just got my new 09 a few weeks ago, its build date is 10/08. I told the dealer tp put the latest flash in it, because it had been on the lot for several months. They said that they did have an updated flash. The flash was the AX ??? Anyone have this one also? I had the AQ flash and the AX was the newest one.

If you notice at the bottom of the list are the part numbers for the latest new fuel filter and and shell for the 6. 7 liter engine and at the very bottom is the part number for the new air filter for the 5. 9 liter engine.

The new 5. 9 liter air filter is also rated for "Severe Duty". It's a filter that looks just like the 6. 7 liter filter.

Also you will notice about 3\4 of the way down the list is part numbers for the fuel tank ventilation kits.

The Filtration kits have a list price of about $750. 00. I have not installed one yet (can't find anybody willing to fork over $750. 00 plus installation labor) but It does come with all the plumbing and wiring and also with a new in tank fuel transfer pump module. It also comes with a fuel heater and a WIF sensor that wires into the OEM wiring.

I have installed a few of the fuel tank vent hose kits, Its nothing more than a long hose that runs up and mounts to the fuel fill tube and it has a little "jiggle valve" vent plug in the end of the hose.

The 2009 Pick-ups are at the "AS" level. The 2009 Cab/Chassis are at the "AH" level. It could have had the "AQ" level in it but we haven't made it to the "AX" level on the 2009 Pick-Ups "YET"

I just had the AS flash done today at the dealer for my '09. . Also had my TPMS pressures dropped to 35 psi for light load for my 35" tires (50 psi max). So my light does not kick on w/ lower pressures. Oo.

I am assuming youre a tech for DC, I am just questioning the latest flash for p/u . I just bought a new 09 (build date 10/08) I knew the truck sat on the lot for several months , so i told the dealer to flash it with the newest flash. This was a few weeks ago. I was standing right next to the computer ant the tech. The screen was saying that i was getting the AX flash, there were other #s and words on the screen too, but the letters were AX. I will call them and ask , just to make sure but i did see it with my eyes and not just what i was told.

OK Thanks. Not that i didnt believe you but i was just making sure. Thanks again. Whats the best way to see exactly what flash IS on my truck? I guess i would need the dealer to check it out, right ? They didnt put a sticker or mark anything on the truck, like some guys say they do.
