(3/00) Next engine survey, brief and simple (MARCH 2000)

update 12/2003, please use the new pole at https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=89391

Original post 3/2000:

Just an informal survey based on the rumor of an engine change in 2002. Please keep your answers short as there are several threads on this topic with all kinds of emotion showing throughout.

The objective is to collect some data for our friends from Cummins and Dodge in hopes that it might effect one or two brain cells during the decision process... . (we can hope)... .

Question:

1: Would you care if an alternate diesel engine was introduced, assuming it matched performance with today's Cummins?

answers: care/don't care

2: Did you buy your cummins because it was in a Dodge (i. e. Dodge loyalty)? or Did you buy your Dodge because it was wrapped around a Cummins (i. e. Cummins Loyalty)?

answers: Dodgefan/Cumminsfan/both

3: Would you change brands of trucks if another company sold the same size rig with 'our' Cummins?

answers: Will follow cummins/stay with dodge

1. Don't care
2. Dodge (but the Cummins is a HUGE PLUS)
3. FOLLOW (even though i hate the blue oval and GM will find a way to make it the WORST #ad
engine EVER built)

1. Indifferent, provided new motor is the best thing on the market.
2. Cummins is the current reason, see # 1.
3. I'm loyal to results, if the cummins is (still) the best offering at the time, it wins, regardless of where it lies. If it is not the best, it won't be in my truck.

(Good Call on the Thread David) Three raps of the throttle. =)

1) Care
2) Both
3) Will travel unless it's Chevy.
