Guys,

Next project up after the running boards is going to be removing the muffler. I may even remove the muffler before I finish the running boards LOL... I have a piece of 4" pipe from which I can make a short pup to replace the muffler with.

I know I have read that others have done this with no changes in how the motor ran, I don't care so much for anything like it being louder, I just would like to see better fuel mileage...

I did all the pipe work on my old 95' model Ford PSD I have and I made a little interesting rifling vein in it, much the same way I use to pipe fluids and hot gases in the oil field, when I worked at that as a contractor for pipeline construction and repair.

The deal with things in a piped system is they can have the volume increased if the substance you are moving in the pipe is given a direction, like a twisting or rifling. I look forward to see if I can make any improvements to the fuel numbers from behind the PDF...

The muffler even though its a small unit, does look to be one made with a baffle, so there should be some help with the flow by removing and putting in a rifling vein spool out pup.

I wonder on these 6. 7's what it sounds like straight piped. Must be quieter then the 5. 9's I would think.

Mel , sorry about my ignorance, and out of curiousity what exactly is a Active Pro-America First Conservative mean ? Truck orderded on 03/15 , delivery date 04/10. Gary

Sky,

This first stage of the exhaust work I am going to do here is not going to be straight pipe. I am just taking the muffler off and building the rifling vein on the back side of all the emission stuff that is on this 07'. So don't think this is going to be a straight pipe job just yet...

Hmmmm, there were a lot of people who said that the Aeroturbine mufflers were all marketing hype and that the design was useless. Hmmmmmmmm... .

EMD,

Dude I must admit that I know nothing about these Aero mufflers you mentioned, but if they rifled the discharge much at all, they would increase the discharge ability. They may have also been of design to tone the noise level down to the point it restricted the discharge somewhat?

Don't know, never seen or heard of them. I got one side of my running boards frame hung up on the drivers side and I am using it a few days to make sure the height is good before I hang the otherside and proceed with these. Sooo,

I am thinking I am going to run out a short muffler delete spool pup and build the rifling for it and get this on and see if the emissioned almost to death 6. 7 will even crank and run LOL??? Then I guess I will wait and see if the Feds. show up seconds later if it does LOL... Tattle on me like a school girl, that was too funny, long as it doesn't:)

Now far as art work, I will get the art up I promise. I have a good hot battery in the digi-cam and will show just how easy it is to do, so that others that might like to give this a try, can see how I do this. Really simple and keeping this simple is a plus:) I do have a CD full of PIC's of my 07' Gote sitting in a patch of Bluebonnets off the side of the road also and I will try to get these on my shutterfly account and posted this weekend also. PIC's of this are not the best quality, but is a neat view of the truck and was when she was new...
