What a great weekend of racing! Lots of rounds Friday night, Saturday, and perfect weather Sunday too. I'll pat myself on the back for winning the Pro1 class
, with my truck running consistently in the 11. 8's. Hoss was runner-up to me. Mr. Fletcher had another 'water incident' which seemed to affect his brain, making him red-light in the first round (giving some of us hope that he's not invincible).
Paul went a number of rounds to win the Pro2 class, with Slybones hot on his heels in the runner-up position.
The big rigs were putting on a great show too, with some extremely fast, huge rides! There were some Fords there, several of which I spanked hard Friday night... :-laf
I challenged the Lucas Oil big rig to a grudge match to which they reluctantly agreed (with pressure from the other big rig drivers, track staff, and media); they made me give them a second and a half (they'd run 11. 9's Saturday but said they were out of Nitrous), and did not take me up on the 'pink slips' offer... :right: Then after running a new World record 11. 75 (musta found some Nitrous), they "blew a head gasket" and the race never happened...
They said if I show up to the Sacramento race in September they'll run me; might be worth the drive...
There was another trick 2wd there, from Dawson Creek? Built to the hilt but having problems and unable to run. Nice truck, could be fast some day...
Thanks to DTT for providing the crucial link getting my power to the ground, taking round after round of horrible abuse and never failing when I need her most.
Thanks to Piers and PDR for all the good stuff the Princess is utilizing to be so bad-***!
And thanks to Fletcher again, for his engine building techniques and tuning advice that has put my truck on top and running great! Fletch, can we start turning her up now?
