What's the deal with these lights that burn out every few months or less? I had a Silver Star burn out in 2 weeks!!

The factory halogen bulbs lasted forever. I went with the Nite Hawks the first go around because they were cheaper. I did that a few times, then I finally spent the money for the Silver Stars and to be honest, the Nite Hawks see better and lasted longer before my first burn-out ... ... ... however, niether last very dang long.

I'm going back to halogen for sure.

I did buy a polishing kit and polished my lenses, that helped getting rid of the "sand blasting" and refraction.

i'm going on a year and a half with my silverstars they work great and reasonable just remember to clean the bulb from mfg. and use a towel or glove to install so absolutely no oils or grease of any kind can get on them

hmmmmmm, I've never cleaned them before install. I take them out of the pack with kid gloves and never touch them, but I've never cleaned them. Please elaborate. The Nite Hawks actually see better than the Silver Stars, I'm just ate up with losing a bulb every couple weeks.

I also do ~100,000 miles a year and drive at night more hours than most.

I had two set of of Silver Stars in two separate vehicles with no problem with any of them. I did install the bulbs with sterile surgical gloves so that I had no oils on the glass.

I will replace my OEM bulbs with silver stars when they burn out.

I have been running the same PIAA,s about 3 years now. coobie. Oo.

I'm with coobie. I've been running PIAA's foralmost 3 years. They are better than the stock one's, but not nearly the improvement I had on my '02.
