Nitrous?'s

 Am I crazy for wanting to spray my truck with out a o-ring and studs? I have a SS62 with the better wastegate and low drive pressure, is a 150hp shot or dual stage Nx kit just crazy. I think I want to get rid of the water and get aq kit like the TS Powerfool since I don't use the water for towing like I thought I would. Some one talk me out of this if it's stupid. I am adding a IIHRVP next week, and should have enough fuel to spray. I haven't raced at the track yet in 4 years but I love a dyno compitition.

Help...

Well you have two choices if you're set on doing the nitrous.

O-ring it now and you can schedule it to suit you.

OR

O-ring it after you blow it on the nitrous and your schedule is forced.

I've run nitrous without rings on my 99. But, it would be against sound advice for me to say go ahead with it. SPS62 has enough to potentially blow a gasket, and the nitrous isn't going to help. Maybe with temperature, but not with the gasket.

Jared,

Your not crazy, and you can usually get away with it for a little bit... ... Heck when I first started playing with nitrous we go 5 runs on the dyno before she let go. As mentioned its MUCH easier to do the headgasket on your schedule plus you don't have to go through the ritual of getting the oil out of the coolant.

Did more reading and decided against it fr right now, as I still have to drive this thing to work, the water yielded 68hp last dyno and with the new HRVP and Dragon Flows, she might do pretty good. We'll see March 10th in Buda...
