What has been the highest HP inrease when you nitrous guys hit the switch?I think I heard someone say 120 HP for their truck on the dyno. I want numbers with diesel and nitrous only. What size of jets are you all using for the horsepower ratings you get?

I will know in about a month though. I can tell you then.

If you want to know what i know from my research so far you can pm me.

For the biggest jets you just can't hit the switch... . gotta use a delay timer with progressive nitrous control. Trouble is, the turbo doesn't like to spin so fast, so it simply lets go if the timer is on too long at 100% in the quarter mile. Without a timer and controller, the turbo will also let go, but this time due to a broken shaft when using the big jets and just throwing the switch.

What is the biggest jet I can run with just flipping a switch? Can you go into some detail on why it would break the shaft with the big jets when just a switch is used. I am truck pulling and not drag racing. Would it still break the shaft?

Too much shock from the instantaneous jump in hosepower breaks the shaft every time. One of the jets that comes with the kit should do you fine. The guys using propane use nitrous because they need to provide an additional supply of oxygen to burn all that extra fuel they're injecting into an engine that is already in an overfueled condition of black diesel smoke. If you want to take your chances with turbos go right ahead, but my experience tells me that they do break shafts or centrifugally come apart from overspeeding.

I think Stefan should speak up....

oh Stefan, I think you should tell us something you and your father are working on! ;) :D :p

I will have N2o one day, just not too soon.

Andrew

We've seen 139hp gain on Lawrence's truck. It made 533 on fuel, 566 with fuel and propane, then 705 with the nitrous here at the shop before the Pahrump dyno day.

Jet sizes? We were running two wet foggers at the time. Jets were . 026, . 022, . 040 & . 020.

Chris, have you guys not raced that truck since June of last year?

or are you just too busy to update us on what it can run in the 1/4mile :D

I am building my own kit because I can not afford to buy a new kit. The standard jet would be too small for what I am doing probably. What if I staged the system? If I could divide the horsepower jump between the two jets, could I get away with out spending $400-600 on a progressive controller?

A friend of mine uses 46 jet on a truck with DD2s in it. It was worth about 50HP. Its now been permantly mounted so I imagine its HP gain would be better than just spraying it in the air cleaner like he was lol.

Turbo lag is gone thats for sure.

So what do these diesel nitrous kits come with?? I can't see dropping $500 on one. Hell you could buy a gasser kit for that which comes with alot more parts.

Don't you just need

WOT Switch

Line

Bottle

Solenoid

Fan Spray Nozzle

master switch

You can buy that stuff individualy for alot less cash than for a kit. Unless the kits come with some magic doodad I don't know about. Just my . 02

Got to run the truck three times since June. Wasn't really getting into the entire runs because I'm taking over the driver's seat and have to work on loading up and launching the beast. What happens downfield comes naturally. We're realizing with the new suspension we put on her since June, that we've got another second or so we can drop from the ET just in the launch. Racing is fun, but takes the backseat to getting the customers back on the road every time.

Jonathon, you dont want to tell the HP of that drug you are on huh?

Im still on the number 2 myself. Never was much for DRUGS!:D

Well thats ok, the 24 valve trucks need them to help achieve high numbers on the dyno. Come to Dallas in 5 weeks or so and I will show you how to make HP with just number 2.

Hehehe!

I might even come up to Tulsa for some draggin and dynoin too.

Don~

Don- Any where any time... got it? ;) LOL

I just put the nitrous on my truck to make up for the stock turbo. I had all of the stuff to make the system just lying around so we decided to give it a try. I think the gain was around 50HP 100lb-ft.

I am going to try to come down... Bad340Fish just reminded me about our friends wedding.

Jonathon

Wedding? Weddings go on all the time. Dyno events mean more than weddings right? LOL

Oh well, hope you guys can make it down. I can arrange a place for yall to stay if needed. Course, Dallas ain't the cool place to be when you got Oklahoma to forward to.

Don~

Clark, im not sure what you mean when you said a "WOT switch"

the best thing to use is a boost activated switch. you can get one From NOS or from NAPA Part #7011575 they are adjustable from 0 to 30PSI. I would not have it come on any lower than about 25PSI and you could use as high as a . 60MM orific. you should hold your solenoid as close the the jet as possible and purge it before a run it. so it comes on when you hit the switch not after your run is half over.

If you dare

jonathon, just make sure you park uphill from that oil leaking 12v of Don's LOL

WOT= wide open throttle switch

Todd you really dont need purge on these trucks. It only takes about halfa second for the juice to start flowing. The reason I put it on my truck is to eliminate turbo lag. I hit the bottle atabout 2psi and it works great.

JMHO :-{} lol

25psi is kind of high to start using it. At that much boost your doing a pretty good job of burning your fuel. But if you hit it at low boost when the black smoke is rollin out you will be like Jon and have No turbo lag. Of course if your not careful you might have no turbo :--)

Just my thoughts... my little sister of a truck doesn't have enough fuel to need any Squeeze
