How does nitrous work on a diesel? Does it work the same as ona gas motor? Does it give you more horsepower? This baffles me please advise, i may want this also.

Contact MY6EATSV8(12v) or HVAC(24v) for good info on the laughing gas. I've watched them run and man oh man do they ever create horsepower #ad
.

I have nitrous on the steroid ram and it does work well on the diesel engine. One thing it does is help the truck launch. In liu of boost the nitrous provide oxygen which helps the turbo lag. This is a race only type add on. Nitrous costs over $4 bucks a pound and it goes quick. You can empty a tank in about 90 seconds! The diesel engines use what is called a fogger, this is a nozzle that blows the liquid into the intake track. This also cools the intake charge which creates more cylinder pressure. This means more horsepower.

The alternative I'm considering (and which HVAC has already used, from what I understand) is propane. Propane injection has proven performance enhancement in the diesel world. I'm compiling information right now, to be published soon on a new web site.

Cool thanks for the info HVAC might add on later. But i am seriously thinking about the propane injection. It sounds like it will match well with my stageIII while I am in search to be the BOMB leader of the south.

UTI (auto trade school in Pheonix Az) did have the fastest diesel car. It was a 86 Olds that ran the 1/4 mile in 5 to 6 sec. It used nitros to keep the pistons from melting. I have not heard anything about it in the last ten years but it was very fast. UTI did alot of research on building the car. The bigest problem was keeping the heads on the block. I seen a picture with the head about 40 feet in the air. Like I said I have not heard about it since 1988. Anyone have info on it. I wonder if they still race it.

ATS in Murray, Utah offers a Propane kit for the Cummins at a list price of 995. 00.

Might be worth checking out.

Aren't you limited to 75hp with propane or risk Ka-Boom... ?

Somebody asked me which to do and I suggested the propane is much cheaper as a frequently used device. Nitrous is strictly race only, but propane can be used much more widely. IMHO, the limit with propane is detonation. You don't want to have see through pistons #ad
I agree the limit is in the 50 to 100 hp range with propane. You can easily use both simultaneously, just make sure you seat belt is buckled #ad
