I was thinking of installing a nos system on my truck and wondered if anybody had any thoughts on that, ie. how it affects the engine and a good spot to install the nozzle. i was guessing i would put it in the intake tube somewhere near where the dip stick bolts on.
It works very well as long as you have the fuel to support it. It cleans up the smoke and does away with turbo lag. Whats nice is that if you have to much your motor doesn't melt down like it does with a gasser, it just doesn't hit good.
A few years ago a friend of mine had 2 stages of it on his truck. When the pedal hit the floor it got one shot from a 30 size pill and at 26# of boost a 72 sized pill came on as well. It made 552hp and 1200(pegged dyno)tq with the stock turbo. It was a 2wd 3500 5-speed, i drove it to a 13. 76@97 had to pedal for traction in 3rd gear. . the second stage hits like a baseball bat
NOS works great it does take more to feel it. A . 73 jet on a gasser is 175hp with a dry 5. 0 kit same jet in my truck made 80hp. With Mach 4s and edge drag 530hp with a . 73 jet 609hp.
Ive got a k&n intake 155 hp injectors with an edge comp and a programmer, it smokes like an s. o. b. and i just thought this might get some of the smoke down and get me a little power as well as lower egt maybe
What amount of NOS can be added to a stock head gasket?
Are studs & o-rings needed to safely keep the head on?
What are the limits? These DMax guys are adding 300hp+ with nos & pane. If you can't beat them join them I guess lol. Wade's truck made 480hp something on #2 and 852hp on nos & pane. That is stupid!
My Buddies truck made 552 hp with DD2s and a BlueChip FMS with stock exahust minus the muffler. I think it made like 415-430 without the nitrous. He had to do it in 2 stages because it wouldn't take the big pill down low. . it would just shut it off. I think he was seeing like 55lbs from the stock turbo :--). This was like 3 years ago. . he sold the truck and hasn't fully modded the new one yet.
