Does anyone have any experience with these tires Nitto – Fueled by Enthusiasts. I did a search and found nothing. Maybe they are just too new. I was kicking the idea around of buying some 285s. They claim they are made for sandy conditions. I don't have any desert around me which is why I was curious as to how they handle on dry pavement, handle towing, handle in the snow, etc. Any info is greatly appreciated.

i went out on a AAA call last week and there was a guy i assisted and he was telling me about them nitto dune grapplers. He was totally estactic about them. he must have ranted on for like 5 whole minutes about them. he belongs to a club that is based around spending time out on the beach. he supposedly has them on his RV and tows the ford explorer i got the call on. he said they were great on the street rain or shine and LOVES them on the beach. me I am personally into my goodyear mtr's for my normal everyday needs except sled pulling. I know that nittos cost more than my goodyear mtrs so I hope you dont have a dually and or the urge to do burnouts all over town, beings my 1800 mtr's are slicks after 7 months.

I have a set of the Dune Grapplers 315/70/17 on the factory rims, 17x8. I have had them for about a year now. I have really liked them so far, the fit is perfect with no rubbing. I got them for what I felt was a pretty good price. I like that they have a semi aggressive look to them, but they have a smooth quiet ride on the road. The only bad part about them is I'm not sure how I feel about the flames on the side of them, some days I think it looks great and other days I think it just looks okay. All in all I think they are a good set of tires.

I'd be interested in seeing a close up. Do you live where it rains and snow at all? How do they handle in these conditions? Mileage?

It does rain quite a bit up here, Nor Cal. , no real snow to speak of. I am averaging about 16-17 around town, and 18-19 on the freeway. The tires have been just fine in the rain and the sand. The rear end keeps traction a little bit better then with the stockies, but they still get spinning if you want them to. Also, they are a D load rating, I know some people are opposed to that, however it hasn't been a problem for anything that I do or weight that I carry, which is at the most about a 1k in the bed w/ a 10k trailer behind it.

I have a set of terra grapplers on my truck I love them I really wanted the dune grapplers but I am about 2000 miles away from a real dune but as far as tires go nittos are great

ps the dune will talk more then the terra will on the highway thats another reason I did not get them
